Oruç was born in Bursa in 1984. After completing his primary and secondary education in Bursa, he was entitled to study at Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2002 and graduated with a degree in 2006. In the same year, he continued his postgraduate studies at Istanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Private Law; In 2015, he successfully completed his doctorate program in the Private Law Department of the Social Sciences Institute of Istanbul University. Murat Oruç earned the title of Associate Professor of Civil Law in 2020.

Oruç, who is closely interested in the fields of Concordat and Sports Law as well as Civil and Obligations Law, served as a referee at the Turkish Football Federation Dispute Resolution Board between 2015-2019.
